Dr. Koharik Arman,Veterinarian |
---|
Dr. Ko worked as a feline-only veterinarian in clinical practice for 15 years, after having graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island in 2007. Although she is originally from the East Coast, after spending some time in Vancouver for a vet conference in 2008, she fell in love with the West Coast, and decided this was where she needed to be.
Dr. Ko practiced for many years at the iconic Cats Only Veterinary Clinic founded by Dr. Margie Scherk in the 1980’s, which later became VCA Cats Only Animal Hospital. She has also enjoyed locum work at North West Nuclear Medicine for Animals, curing hyperthyroid cats with radioiodine, and providing strontium treatment to dogs. Specific areas of interest for Dr. Ko include feline behavioural issues, senior and geriatric care, and practicing preventative medicine through nutrition.
She serves on the board of directors for the CVMA-SBCV (Chapter Canadian Veterinary Medical Association – Society of British Columbia Veterinarians), and enjoys writing articles for the West Coast Veterinarian magazine on occasion.
In her spare time Dr. Ko enjoys yoga and hiking, but her favourite activity is spending family time with her husband and son, their two ‘teenage’ kittens adopted from TinyKittens in Langley, and their very sassy 10 year old calico cat.
